As a means of giving back to the community in which we operate and reinvesting within it, we have allocated a budget for the forthcoming year. Our budget for 2024-2025 for community support is £20,000. This will encompass charitable sponsorship, support for sports and community groups, event sponsorship, pro bono labour/work, environmental initiatives, and any endeavours contributing to the area's well-being and fostering community cohesion. It is our aim to support as many smaller organisations as possible by distributing funds and services equitably. Our support will be extended exclusively to the areas in which we operate, encompassing the surrounding valleys and most regions within South Wales. If you spot our vans in your vicinity, you are likely eligible!
We have established a community support committee tasked with evaluating all requests for assistance, determining the allocation of funds, and deciding the extent of support we can provide. We endeavour to distribute our expenditure evenly throughout the year, supporting as many groups and organizations as feasible each month.
The committee comprises a company director, an internal community support officer, and an external representative. This additional member will be drawn from the local community, such as one of our customers (e.g., MTCBC, RCTCBC, Coleg Morgannwg, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service), a local support/community group, or a professional within our community. Monthly meetings will be convened to deliberate on support recipients. Decisions will be merit-based, considering the impact of the requesting group or organization on the local community, the purpose of the funds/assistance, and the beneficiaries. Non-selection in a particular month does not preclude future support; however, we kindly request that reapplications be deferred for at least three months to streamline the evaluation process.
If you possess experience in community support or charity work and have availability, we invite you to nominate yourself for one or more meetings in 2024 to actively participate in decision-making. Meetings will be held on the last Friday of each month, with successful applicants notified by the 10th of the subsequent month. In our commitment to transparency, we will publish the recipients of funding on our website, contingent upon the agreement of the applicant/community group.
We wish you the best of luck with your applications. For any inquiries, please refer to our website's contact page, and we will respond promptly.
