Cambrian Village Trust – Building works moving to completion

Cambrian Lakeside Limited was set up in November 2013 as the trading arm of the Cambrian Village Trust with the aim of managing its commercial activities such as the Lakeside Café Bar plus the Cambrian Lakeside Sports Academy 3G Facility.  Their trading activities with the aim of maximising the community usage of the sports facility has attracted usage from many sports groups such as Cardiff City, Wales Vets Football, Rugby Clubs, as well as hosting a college international football match (Wales v Australia).

The Lakeside Café Bar has become a really popular social venue, for local sports people as well as the general public, housing Cambrian Football Clubs as well as Cambrian RFC, it is also the home of the Rhondda Rotary club who dedicate their time voluntarily to raising funding to donate to many worthy causes across the world.The Café Bar is also a very popular venue for many outreach community groups such as the elderly and disabled, offering a relaxing environment, fabulous views, and lovely walks, either just around the lower lake, or for the more adventurous you can venture up into the mountains, which is ideal for mountain biking, walking, etc.

Brecongate are proud to be assisting the Trust to extend the present facilities at the Lakeside Cafe Bar. This includes:

  • Changing rooms and showers
  • A classroom and learning centre
  • Improved kitchen and hospitality space
  • Additional office space

The additional facilities will allow the Trust to further develop their activities to assist visitors who visit the centre which includes after school clubs, sports clubs, mental health organisations, housing associations or private events such as christenings, funerals, anniversaries, weddings, plus many company training needs.
